257 trains stand idle near Russian ports

According to the Russian Railway (RR) news service, 257 trains concentrated near Russian ports and stand idle. All Russian Far East ports failed to complete all cargo operations in November due to winter conditions. As a result, on November, 30th 165 trains, 120 of them with coal concentrated on the Far East railway, the RR said.

Now 97 trains with coal and 5 trains with coke, 39 - with bulk cargoes, 15 - with ferrous metals, 37 - with various cargoes and one train with fertilizers from directed to the Fareast ports stand idle. Eleven more coal trains stand idle on the Transbaikalia railway.

in November Russian Railway managers stopped loading of coal to Vaninsky Sea Commercial Port, Port Poset and from Linevo station to "Company Attis Enterprise" but it did not helped the situation.

Today RR holds a meeting of representatives of the coal companies, heads of Mortsentr-FEC and Federal Agency of Sea and River Transport to resolve the situation. The company managers consider conventional interdictions for loading of cargo.

The same problem with cargo operations is reportedly happened in ports of Murmansk, Novorossisk and Tuapse.

Totally over 257 trains are standing idle near sea ports, the RR said.
