Heavy-load cargo trains have started to ply along the line of Petrov Val-Kotelnikovo-Salsk of the Volgograd branch of the Privolzhsky railway. The first testing trip of a cargo train weight 8 thousand tons took place in November, 2009, the Russian Railway press service reports.
"The second line started operating on Zhutovo - Chilekovo and Gremjachaja - Kotelnikovo piece of line equipped with state-of-art facilities and services in 2009. It will help carrying out additional survey of cars, and also changes of the locomotive and a locomotive brigade”, the first deputy chief of the Center of the management of railway stations Ruslan Sultanov is quoted as saying in his interview with the RR press service.
Driving heavy-load cargo trains will help as well to optimize stock operation, to raise labour productivity of locomotive brigades on this piece of line, as to reduce at least up to 8 hours the time we spend for transportation of cargoes for Peters Val - Kotelnikovo – Salsk line .
The heavy-load cargo trains will start running on a regular basis in mid-December, 2009, the RR press service reports.
