St.-Petersburg has been awarded the high public award "Gold Chariot" in a nomination "For the contribution to development of the Russian transport branch", the Committee of transport and transit policy of St.-Petersburg administration reports.
On December, 9th, 2009 in the State Kremlin Palace a ceremony of rewarding of the best transport companies of the country and the people who have considerably contributed to the development of transport branch in 2008 has taken place.
Nikolay Asaul, the chairman of transport and transit Committee representing the governor of St.-Petersburg attended the ceremony. The official accepted the diploma of the winner, a badge and a figurine "the Gold chariot".
Worthy of notice, it was the fifth ceremony of nomination of the National Public award of transport industry «Gold Chariot».
The award was founded by the State Duma and the Ministry of transport of the Russian Federation. Over the five years the award has become widely popular among transport workers, consumers of transport services. It is intended to promote improvements in services offered by transport agencies, to boost cooperation of different sectors of the Russian economy.
