Primorski Territory governor offers shift date for APECF Summit

The governor of Primorski Territory Sergey Darkin suggests the government of the Russian Federation to shift the date of the summit of Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Forum from November to September, 2012. The Territory administration believe the second half of September would be more appropriate for the APECF summit in Vladivostok,  the administration press agency reports,

The decision has been worked out at the meeting of the chief of Primorsk department of hydrometeorology and monitoring of environment Boris Kubaj, representatives of meteorological service of the Russian Pacific fleet at the governor’s office, the report says.

"Traditionally the summit  takes place in November, but the most favorable time as of environmental conditions in Vladivostok - the early autumn. Actually September over here is considered our best month in a year, our "velvet season", it’s very comfortable both to work and have a rest at this time. Therefore we also have charged to weather forecast agencies to analyse, what date would be the best time for the summit . It is very important to solve all issues since we expect liners of "Princess" class to Vladivostok in 2012 year. It is necessary to sign contracts before the date ", Sergey Darkin was quoted as saying in his interview with the agency.
