Leningrad region and Canada intend to develop cooperation in the field of logistics and transportation of cargo. According to press-service of local administration, during a meeting of the governor Valery Serdukov with Jean Share, the prime minister of Quebec , these lines of cooperation were сonsidered to be the most important for the both regions.
As Valery Serdukov noted, at the present moment the construction of three sea commercial ports with a total turnover more than 120 million tons a year in Leningrad region is in process. Within the next 3-4 years transfer volume will be up to 100 million tons.
Jean Share, in his turn, expresses his interest in cooperation development with Leningrad region, emphasizing the necessity to build it on a long-term basis. To strengthen the arrangements reached at a today's meeting prime minister has invited Valery Serdukov to head the economic delegation of Leningrad region to Quebec.
