Russia is considering the possibility of attracting Chinese investment to create a transport corridor Western China-Western Europe

Russia is considering the possibility of attracting Chinese investment to create an international transport corridor Western China-Western Europe, Igor Levitin Russian Minister of Transport said after a meeting with the Ambassador of China in Russia, Li Hui, the ministry press service reports.
"We are ready to consider concrete proposals of the Chinese side for the construction and operation of high-speed rail lines", Mr. Levitin was quoted as saying. He specified that Khabarovsk - Vladivostok, Moscow - Sochi, Moscow - Nizhny Novgorod lines could be the promising polygons for organization of high-speed trains in Russia.
"Chinese investment and technology can be used as well while building Russian freeways and, in particular in creation of international transport corridor Western China - Western Europe, Mr. Levitin added.
To remind, on October 12, 2009 in Beijing a memorandum of understanding for organization and development of high-speed rail lines on the territory of Russia was signed by the Ministry of Transport, Russian Railways and the Ministry of Railways of China as a part of the thirteenth meeting of the Commission for the preparation of regular meetings between heads of governments of Russia and China.
