A delegation from the company led by Capt Anil Singh, Senior Vice-President and Managing Director, DP World Sub-Continent, informed the port authorities that they are making arrangements to stick to the original time schedule of March 31. For this purpose, the company has decided to commission more equipment and employ an alternative technology for completing their part of the dredging work without further delay.
The Port Trust officials on Monday held a discussion with the representatives of Dubai Ports World to discuss various issues relating to commissioning of the ICTT project. The concerns of the port regarding the delay in dredging activities to be undertaken by DP World were conveyed to them.
It was also pointed out by the port authorities during the meeting that the port is making a huge public investment to the tune of Rs 1,600 crore, and therefore, it has become necessary to fix up firm time lines for the commissioning of the ICTT Project.
The port has also given assurances to the DP World that the projects of road, rail and deepening of channel would be completed before March 31. The port delegation was represented by the Port Chairman, Mr N. Ramachandran, and other senior officials.
