Foreign trade turnover of the Russian Sakhalin region falls 22% - to $ 7.68 billion over 11 months of 2009

The volume of foreign trade turnover of the Sakhalin region of Russia over January-November, 2009 has decreased by 22% - to $ 7.68 billion, the Far East Customs office said.
Exports costs, almost six times as much of imports. Of these, almost 90% of the commodities have been transported by operators of oil and gas projects, "Sakhalin-1" and "Sakhalin-2 ".
Since January, this year the export of marine biological resources of the Sakhalin region in value terms has increased by 4 times and has reached more than $ 230 million.
Over 11 months of 2009 the Sakhalin customs department has collected and transferred to the federal budget 3 billion 587 million rubles of customs duties and taxes. That is 10% less of expected figures.
