The Port of Tuapse is located in the Russian Krasnodar Territory in the north-eastern coast of the Black Sea at the tip of the bay Tuapse. The port water area is separated from the open sea by Southern, Southwestern and Western breakwaters. Tuapse is second only to the port of Novorossiysk on Russia’s Black Sea coast, transshipping export oil products and the major deep-water ice-free port, transshipping export coal. The port has two stevedore companies: “OJSC Tuapse Commercial Sea Port "(14 berths) and "Tuapse Commercial Sea Port Comp. Ltd." (one berth of Rybny (Fishery) port). In 2007, total throughput of Tuapse port amounted to 19,6 million tons, including 14,1 million tons of bulk cargoes.
