Arthur Gavlyuk appointed head of the Department of water transport of St. Petersburg


The Committee for Transport and Transit Policy of St. Petersburg has appointed Arthur Gavlyuk acting CEO of Department of Water Transport. Olga Kargin, former head of the department has been on sick leave since October 30, 2009, the Port News agency reports.
Mr. Gavlyuk was born in 1969 in Leningrad. In 1988 he graduated from the Faculty of the Lomonosov electromechanical Marine College of the RN. In 2004, a graduate of St. Petersburg University of Water Communications with a degree in finance and credit. From 1989 to 1994 he served on ships of the Russian Navy. In1994 started his career in transport companies of the Big Port of St. Petersburg - JSC "Ventana", LLC "Brasco-Ship. From 1999 to 2003 he worked CEO of "Baltkor Ltd.”. In 2003, as head of the fleet of JSC "North-West Fleet”, a subsidiary company of the North-Western Shipping Company. Since December 2003 through August 2004 – as CEO of JSC "North-Western Shipping Company". From August 2004 to mid-2009 he worked as Managing Director of JSC "North-Western Shipping Company". Then - Acting General Manager of the Baltic Basin rescue management. He is heading the department for international cooperation in the Association of shipping companies. He has been awarded the medal "300 years of St. Petersburg”
