Containers throughput at the Port of Long Beach (USA) in January-November 2009 has decreased by 24,1% over the same period last year - to 4.6 million TEUs. According to the harbor administration, the volume of outward laden containers from terminals dropped 22.9% - up to 1.228 million TEUs, inward containers by 22,9% - to 2.3 million TEUs, empty containers at 27,8% - to 1 , 06 million TEUs.

Long Beach is one of America’s major seaports of the Pacific coast of the USA. Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach together form the U.S. port area, one of the biggest cargo turnover in the world. Containers turnover in 2008 totaled 6.48 million TEUs.
