Baltic Customs detained thousands of counterfeit goods this year

The Baltic Customs Office in 2009, detained 223 thousand items of counterfeit goods, a twofold increase over the last year. According to the North-West Customs Administration report, customs officers confiscated over 609 thousand items of allegedly counterfeited goods. The courts acknowledged at least 223 thousand of them counterfeited. This is twice as much over the last year.

The cases of 122 thousand of allegedly counterfeit goods have been filed in the Interior Ministry and Prosecutor Office. The courts are to decide on cases of other 280 thousand counterfeit goods.
