Odessa port keeps operating in full capacity

Odessa sea port keeps operating as usual, no failures, the Ministry of Transport of Ukraine said on December 17, 2009. There had been reportedly five ship calls at Odessa Commercial Sea Port.
The main port siding is functioning smoothly, providing links between the port and container terminal, the Ministry said.
As a reminder, on December 16, the authorities ceased piloting at the port due to heavy snow, gale winds (20 m/s), rough seas (up to 5 points).
The state-run "Odessa Commercial Sea Port" is one of the major ports of the Black Sea-Azov basin. The port capacities allow handling annually over 14 million tons of dry cargo and 14 million tons of oil products. Total turnover at the port in 2008 amounted to 34.5 million tons.
