Prime Minister Putin orders long-term program for development of military shipbuilding

Prime Minister Vladimir Putin ordered in a short time work out a long-term program for development of military shipbuilding. "The naval shipbuilding must make a leap forward in quality, therefore, it is absolutely necessary in the shortest time to work out a long-term program of development," Mr. Putin said at a meeting on the military-industrial complex development, ITAR-TASS reports.
Putin has instructed the United Shipbuilding Corporation to fully integrate in its structure the Kaliningrad factory "Yantar".
"United Shipbuilding Corporation is tightly involved in ensuring the smooth loading of the Kaliningrad factory" Yantar ", Mr. Putin is quoted as saying, “but, of course, to decide on new orders will be easier if USC will be able to fully integrate this business into its structure".
In addition, Putin said, the government of Russia had transferred 1.9 billion rubles to Amur Shipbuilding Plant for the completion of the export contract. Besides, the Defense Ministry will place additional orders totaling up to 3 billion rubles, Mr. Putin said.
