Oktyabrskaya railway branch shows throughput decline

Cargo transshipment at Oktyabrskaya Railway of St. Petersburg for eleven months this year slightly decreased by 16,7% from a year earlier - to about 30 million tones, the OR press service reports. The average daily throughput, the press release reads, of the branch in January-November 2009 was 89.3 thousand tons. Transshipment of oil and petroleum products, building materials and chemical fertilizers helped largely in completion of basic plan of loading for 2009.

Oktyabrskaya Railway, a branch St.Petersburg Railways has operating length 13 thousand 323.7 km. The line passes through eleven regions of the Russian Federation - Leningrad, Pskov, Novgorod, Vologda, Murmansk, Tver, Moscow, Yaroslavl, Moscow, St. Petersburg and the Republic of Karelia.
