SCR cuts tariffs on export and import next year
JSC "South Caucasus Railways (SCR, subsidiary of Russian Railways) has announced tariff cuts on export outward cargo railroad shipment via since January 1st through to March, 2010. The reduction factor for the transportation of export and import cargo will be 0.77 and 0.84 accordingly, the SCR press service said.

The measures are intended, the press service says, to support the economy of Republic of Armenia hit by financial crisis and to reduce possible impact on the budgets of Russia and Armenia, the SCR added.
The length of the company’s network is 726 km. It’s carrying capacity with all four joints operating is said to be 50 million tons of cargo and 5.5 million passengers per year. The SCR is largely transshipping cement, grain, oil and petroleum products, chemicals and mineral fertilizers.
