Rostekhnadzor to examine Primorsky Refinery construction project for environmental issue

The Federal Service for Ecological, Technological and Nuclear Supervision (Rostekhnadzor) will hold a state ecological expertise of design documentation for future refinery plant. The expertise focuses on the part of offshore construction of the project "Maritime Refinery total annual capacity at 20 million tones.” The agency head has recently signed the order, Rostekhnadzor press release reads.

As a reminder, Rosneft oil company had planed to build a refinery of capacity at about 20 million tons of oil per year at the end point of the Eastern Siberia - Pacific Ocean (ESPO). The refinery project was to be build in the vicinity of Yelizarov Cape, 3-4 km from the future shipment port at Kozmino bay. Expected construction cost was reported at $ 5-7 billion.
