CPV Handles First 5.5 Thousand Tn. Of Export Grain

OJSC "Commercial Sea Port of Vladivostok " (CPV) handled the first 5.5 thousand tons of feed grain of 2009 harvest to be delivered in one of the Japanese ports, the stevedoring company the press service said.
According to Vyacheslav Ekimtsov, deputy general director of CPV JSC the company currently is only operator of the Far Eastern ports, which can handle and ship grain bulk outward and inward directions: import, export, cabotage. The port manages the car-to-ship transshipment using the portal and mobile cranes. While the standard daily rate of shipment of grain on board at the port is 1500 tons, actual rate - 3000 tons, the maximum handled - 5000 tons. An alternative trans-shipment through the warehouse, Mr. Ekimtsov says, is also possible, with daily 2000 tons, provided a steady traffic flows.

CPV production capacity allows, Mr. Ekimtsov adds, to transship annually up to 1.5 million tons of grain bulk.

OJSC "Commercial Sea Port of Vladivostok holds and manages the Vladivostok seaport property complex - one of the largest seaports in the Far East of Russia. The port has 17 berths, including several specialized - container, passenger and car. OJSC "CPV" is included in the transport group FESCO. Cargo throughput JSC "CPV" in 2008 totaled 5.915 million tons.
