Ukraine’s commercial seaports increased in January-November 2009 the amount of net profit 2.32 times over the same period in 2008 - up to 1.83 billion hryvna (approximately $135.4 million). Ports revenues for recent eleven months increased by 49,7% - to 9.154 billion hryvna ($1.144 billion), Interfax-Ukraine agency reports citing the State Administration of Sea and River Transport of Ukraine.
Net profit of the state-run "Odessa Commercial Sea Port" for this period grew to 51,4% or 397.014 million hryvna, The amount of revenue - by 54%, to 1.546 billion hryvna.
Illichivsk seaport in January-November showed threefold net profit growth up to 283.569 million hryvna. Revenue - by 40,2%, to 1.471 billion hryvna.
Net profit of "Yuzhny” (Southern) seaport in the first 11 months rise 3.1 times - up to 555.679 million hryvna. Revenue - up 81.4% to 2.284 billion hryvna.
Mariupol commercial seaport over the same period expanded the volume of the net profits 2.32 times - up to 333.152 million hryvna, revenues - by 35,5%, to 1.283 billion hryvna, Interfax-Ukraine agency reported.
