USC increases its 7,76% share in OJSC "Shipyard" Yantar "(Kaliningrad) up to 32,26%

OJSC United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC) has increased the share in OAO "Baltic Shipyard" Yantar "(OJSC" Shipyard "Yantar, Kaliningrad) from 7,76% to 32,26%, the Kaliningrad company press service reports. The deal to be registered for the personal account of USC-21 on December 2009.
Baltic Shipyard "Yantar" was established on July 8, 1945 on the basis of F. Schichau Koenigsberg Shipyard Company. The company specializes in building small and medium vessels for military and civil purposes, as well as carrying out ship repair services. In its sixty-four-year history the factory has built 154 warships and more than 500 passenger ships. A controlling stake in OJSC "Shipyard" Yantar " is currently owned by the government represented by JSC Western Shipbuilding Center.
OJSC United Shipbuilding Corporation was founded in 2007. The corporation incorporates three regional shipbuilding centers: JSC Western Shipbuilding Center (St. Petersburg), OAO "The Northern Center of Shipbuilding and Ship Repair" (Severodvinsk), OAO "Far Eastern Center of shipbuilding and repair" (Vladivostok), as well as design-engineering offices that had designed nuclear and diesel submarines of different types, ships and vessels, which consists the foundation of naval strategic nuclear forces and conventional forces of Russian Navy and foreign Navy. Meanwhile, in 2008 the company’s net loss was reported to be at 37.014 million rubles. This year’s revenues is said to be 40.169 million rubles.
