"Admiral Makarov" icebreaker heading to the Tatar Strait to navigate tankers

The icebreaker "Admiral Makarov" up-anchors today at the port of Vladivostok to bound for the port of DeKastri. The icebreaker owned by Far Eastern Shipping Company (OJSC "FESCO" base company Transport Group FESCO will be navigating in the Tatar Strait till April 2010, piloting vessels under contract with the company «Exxon-Oil & Gas Limited, said the press service of the shipping company.
In FESCO company said the long-term contract with the company «Exxon-Oil & Gas Limited for pilotage of vessels in the Tatar Strait was signed in 2004. According to the contract, FESCO icebreakers will be navigating of tankers in the area until 2016.

Seaborne freight of the company’s fleet, which consists of 67 vessels with a total deadweight of more than 900.000 tons, is said to embrace the entire world ocean. Net profit of JSC "FESCO" in the first quarter of 2009 increased by 31.8 times - up to 1.3 billion rubles.
