The last "Peregrine" train transported by ferry from Germany to Baltiisk (Kaliningrad region)

The last of eight contracted high-speed trains "Sapsan” (Peregrine Falcon) was shipped by "Vilnius" ferry from Germany to Baltiisk (Kaliningrad region). After passing through customs clearance procedures "Peregrine Falcon" train will be loaded on "Baltic" rail ferry to be transported to the port of Ust-Luga (Leningrad region). Loading is scheduled for December 30, said press service of the Kaliningrad railways.

The contract for the supply of high-speed trains between Russian Railways and Siemens company was signed back in 2006, the KR press service reminded. Transportation of the first serial train "Sapsan" on the route Sassnitz - Baltiisk - Ust-Luga was carried out in November 2008. Somewhat complicated this method of transportation has appeared to be the most economical and convenient for development of logistics and cooperation of KR company and the German port of Sassnitz, Kaliningrad railways reported.

In accordance with the contract, the German partners have delivered all of the eight trains for state-owned Russian Railways. All previous operations for the transportation of trains to Oktyabrskaya railway were fulfilled without any delays, the company said.
