Two berths of Olya seaport (Astrakhan region) to be commissioned in 2010

In 2010 two new berths at the seaport of Olya (Astrakhan region) are to be commissioned, Russian Border Maintenance Federal Agency (Rosgranitza) press service reports citing Victor Litvinov, an official of the Coordinating Council of check points at the Russian border at Olya seaport.
The concept of development of the port Olya involves two phases - the construction of the first cargo area, located in the vicinity of Olga village, then second cargo area (Zaburunye), located four km south off first one, Rosgranitza agency said.

There are four berths currently in operation. The officials said, at least 13 berths to be built in the named cargo areas. The port areas construction is part of the development project for the International transport corridor "North-South".
