The Board of Directors of the Federal Tariff Service (FTS) of Russia at a meeting on December 24 2009 decided to make amendments to the "Tariffs for transportation of goods and infrastructure services performed by Russian Railways" in part of charging freight in containers and empty containers by rail, the RR press service reports.
According to report, the FTC agency decided to amend paragraphs of the Price List N10-01, qualifying the conditions for the application of amount of reduction of tariffs for transportation of cargoes in containers, empty containers without sorting in the domestic and international traffics, including traffic through the Russian border transfer stations with the implementation of transshipment of containers out of the cars of one gauge to another gauge wagons and without the implementation of overload.
In part of the charging of freight in large refrigerated containers, the amendments to the document clarify the types of containers.
FST has also established exceptional rates for rail freight to transport goods in containers, empty containers and empty fitting platforms, following after the transport/loading of containers, generally preserving the current system of exclusive rates.
At that this exclusive tariffs imposed in the form of special rates for transportation of 40-foot containers of universal accessories for the assembly of cars coming from the Asia-Pacific region through Far Eastern ports of container trains heading to the station of the St. Petersburg and the station Martsevo of the North Caucasian railway and in the opposite direction are increased by the amount of indexation of tariffs for cargo railway transportation in 2010 at 9,4%.
