The 2010 investments project of the Northern Railway (NR, a branch of "Russian Railways” JSC) is reportedly 7.246 billion rubles. This year the figure was 7.6 billion rubles. The funds are largely spent to upgrade the road infrastructure and its upgrading, the NR press center reports.
More than 900 million rubles have been allocated for the next year reconstruction of the NR’s North rail line, the stations of Vologda Cherepovets-I and-II, technical re-equipment of administrative center for the Northern Railway station in Yaroslavl and Chita-Vorkuta, the company authorities said.
More than 220 million rubles will be spent to upgrade the locomotive depot management largely in the reconstruction of the locomotive depot of Solvychegodsk.
Significant funds, over 300 million rubles, have been allocated in the next year modernization and upgrading the company’s locomotives, the report said. At least 233 million rubles of the total investment will be spent for new locomotives.
More than 3.226 billion rubles will be directed to the reconstruction of the North railway line, its bridges.
The company plans to spend over 511 million rubles for state-of-the-art facilities and equipment of North Road, permanently operating bilateral interlocking. The introduction of double automatic block is one of the projects implemented by the Northern road increasing the level of safety.
At that in 2010 at least 5 million rubles will be spent for the cars upgrading and the purchase of specialized equipment for the repair of the rolling stock.
According to earlier reports that over 66 billion rubles have been invested since 2003 in modernization of the Northern Railway.
