Cargo turnover of Oil Terminal of St. Petersburg in 2009 reached 12 million tons

Annual turnover of petroleum products JSC "Petersburg Oil Terminal (PNT, St. Petersburg) have reached 12 million tons, a record turnover figure for the terminal, the company press service reports. This is the first time the POT’s throughput exceeds 12 million tons, more than 200 thousand tons of recent year’s period. Transshipment of dark oil (fuel oil) at the terminal according to the forecast year-end 2009 may exceed 9 million tons (8.4 million tones from a year earlier).

Such record level of cargo turnover in 2009 by POT was said to be due to favorable world market of oil products and optimization of oil supply logistics at the port.

The cargo, to remind, is shipped to the POT by rail, pipeline and river transport from Russian oil refineries. Among the largest suppliers of oil at POT are Kirishsk Refinery (Leningrad region) Moscow Oil Refinery (Moscow), Nizhnekamsk Refinery (Tatarstan), the Perm Refinery ("Perm Refinery, Perm Region) and Nizhniy Novgorod Refinery ("Nizhegorodnefteorgsintez JSC, Nizhny Novgorod).

"Petersburg Oil Terminal" JSC provides services for handling and storage of light and dark oil products intended for export and bunkering vessels. The company produces high-quality analysis of petroleum products, accepts and processes oily water from ships calling at the port.
