A fire alarm on a fishing schooner Tropic1 berthed at the port of Korsakov (Sakhalin) came today at 5.10 am LT at the emergency service office, Primamedia agency reports.
According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations the captain said there were four members of the crew staying on the boat. The boat owner is one of the Sakhalin company. The municipal fire brigades and a rescue ship Atlas arrived to the scene.
At 9.49 am (lt), when the fire brigade completely smothered the fire they found four dead bodies on the boat. The cause of the accident and the suspect should be established, the law enforcement agency said.
