Shipments of liquid cargo by tankers of PRISCO in 2009 increased by 21% - to 16.5 million tons

The volume of shipments by tanker fleet of Primorsk Shipping Company (Group of Companies PRISCO in 2009 increased by 21% compared with the last year - to 16.5 million tons of liquid cargo. Traffic volumes of the company's Sakhalin projects have grown in comparison with 2008 by 1.5 times - up to 9 million tons, with the number of traffic in the project "Sakhalin-2 has increased 11 times, the PRISCO report reads.
In 2009, the Primorsky Shipping Company acquired nine ships (including two bulk cargo ships) for the fleet of 21 vessels with a total deadweight at two million tons and an average age of just over two years. Since now the company targets another direction, the transportation of bulk cargo.

PRISCO’s next year plan, the authorities say, is to ensure stable operation of the tanker fleet, development of new directions for the company: bulk shipment, transportation of liquefied natural gas, the projects, together with the Norwegian RIEBER, of servicing oil platforms on the Sakhalin shelf.
