Ministry of Transport of Ukraine to cut fees for handling of several transit cargoes at local ports

The Ministry of Transport and Communications of Ukraine has proposed to set discounts for handling of several types of transit cargo at Ust-Danube and the Kerch commercial seaports. In particular, a 29% discount will be charged for the transshipment of coal and 31% for transshipment of grain at the Kerch seaport.

In addition, the draft proposes to introduce a 50% cuts of fees at the Ust-Danube Commercial Sea Port charged for handling of chemical products in bulk, 39% - of the cargo in bags weighing 30 kg, 35% - on heavy cargo in or unpacked boxes, weighing 215 - 300 kg, 18% - on heavy cargoes in boxes and unpackaged weight of 3001 kg, 33% - on the commodity-piece goods in packages, 50% - non-ferrous metals in pigs, ingots, bars, packs, sheets, circles, 35% - for goods in bundles and bales weighing up to 250 kg, inclusive, 25% - of the goods in bundles and bales weighing between 250 kg and 21,5% - for ferrous metals, "The transport business” agency reported.

The Ministry of Transport of Ukraine, to remind, has introduced since October 16, 2009 through  April 1, 2010 a discount on several transit cargoes at nine commercial sea ports of Ukraine ranging from 20% to 40%. The fees cuts on transit cargoes were announced for Ukrainian seaports of Iyichevck, Kerch, Mariupol, Reni, Ust-Danube, Kherson, Odessa, Berdyansk and "Uzhny” (Southern).
