Cargo turnover of Saint Petersburg transport companies down 0.5% to 39.1 billion ton-km in 9M06
Transport companies of Saint Petersburg (excluding railway transport) decreased cargo turnover in January-September 2006 by 0.5% to 39.1 billion ton-km, Petersburg statistics service reports according to PRIME-TASS. Transportation of cargo grew in January-September 2006 by 6.1% to 74.5 million tons. Sea transportation of cargo grew by 40.7%, motor transport – by 40.6%, pipes – by 6.3%. Transportation by internal water transport decreased by 25.3%, by air transport – by 6.3%. Oktyabrskaya railway (including Saint Petersburg and Leningrad region) dispatched 80 million tons in January-September (+0.3% against similar period of 2005).
