Port of Kozmino posts its 1-million ton of exported oil

Port of Kozmino, a specialized marine port reported it had handled nine oil carriers in the first month this year, and 10 vessels since it started operating, Spetsmornefteport Kozmino statement said. Each projected oil shipment was 100.000 tons. The port’s terminal in December-January has transshipped crude oil onto tankers of Rosneft, Surgutneftegaz, TNK-BP Holding, the last January 31st load shipped on Esteem tanker Esteem for Gazprom Oil.

Overall, the volume of oil exported to the Asia-Pacific region via the port of Kozmino in December 28th - February 1st totaled 1 million tons. To ensure the contracted volumes the port had to handle at least 8-9 trains a day on railroad overpass at Skovorodino station.

According to Transneft February shipment request VOSTOKNEFTETRANS railroad operator will continue the current pace. In February, the second million ton is to be exported to Asia-Pacific countries.

The designed transportation chain of Kozmino special marine seaport includes oil shipment by rail to "Gruzovaya"railway station at Kozmino port. Then the crude oil, discharged from the tank cars on railroad overpass near the village of Hmylovka, is to be transshipped to depot near the village of Kozmino for storage and further loading on oil tankers for export.

The production performance of the first projected phase will be 15 million tons of oil a year, expandable to annual 30 million tons; tank farm - 7 vertical steel tanks with floating roof of the unit capacity at 50.000 m3 and two vertical steel tanks of 10.000 m3; tankers pour deadweight ranged from 80.000 to 150.000 tons. The first oil shipment was exported through the port’s terminal on December 28 last year.
