Traffics reopened, delays caused by explosion accident

The Okyabrskaya Railroad Authority said it had resumed two-way traffics at 08:50 (LT) on the Bronevaya - Ligovo trackside of St. Petersburg-Vitebsk branch of the OR (OZD, the Baltic route). The trains will be operating on the second main road, the OR the press center reports. The statement said regular St. Petersburg-Luga train traffic started today from the Baltic Railway Station.

According an earlier report, an explosion occurred 04:21 a.m. (Moscow time) on Bronevaya – Ligovo trackside of St. Petersburg-Vitebsk branch of the October Railway (DZD, OR, the Baltic route). The explosion went off on a railway track under the wheels of a handcar. No casualties were reported, but the handcar driver was said to have his leg injured.

The first main road is still closed due to ongoing investigation into the incident.
