Mongolia-flagged "Real" ship evacuated to Vladivostok port, out-of-order

A Mongolia-flagged "Real" carrying automobiles was escorted today by Russia's rescue "Naporisty” (Assertive) to the port of Vladivostok, ITAR-TASS reports.

The 200-ton cargo laden ro-ro vessel shipping cars from Japan to Primorye, got January 29, 90 miles off Nakhodka coast into emergency. The vessel failure occurred in the engine room, the ship lost her run. To help, the "Assertive" rescue ship was dispatched on January 31 to the scene to tow the out-of-order vesserl to Vladivostok, said the Vladivostok Maritime Rescue Coordination Center

The "Real" ship of 2230 tons of DW was built in 1971 at the Ukrainian Nikolayev shipyard. The 19 crew members, all of them Russian citizens were on board. Uni Marine, a Korean company (Seoul) is the ship’s operator.

The same incident had occurred in the Sea of Okhotsk with a floating base "Vsevolod Sibirtzev" caused by her biggest failure in the engine room. The floating base is anchored near the western coast of Kamchatka, the MRC Center reported.
