January freight traffics through Kaliningrad Railroad up 53.1%, over 1 million tons

The volume of freight traffics via Kaliningrad Railroad (KZD, a branch of Russian Railways) amounted in January this year to more than 1 million tons, a 53.1% surge over the previous year’s data. The volume numbers include 155.000 tons of commodities loaded by Kaliningrad Railroad,16% up against January 2009), KZD press office reports.

Kaliningrad Railroad operating freight traffics provides a range of comprehensive services including handling, transportation, warehousing, delivering and forwarding of commodities to the destination station. The operational length of Kaliningrad Railroad is 963 km. The company’s report for 2009 showed a year-over-year 31.4% decline in carried volumes, at 12.6 million tons.
