The authorities of Russian Railways (RZD JSC) and Estonian Railways Ltd. (AS Eesti Raudtee) are expected to sign an agreement to cooperate in the freight transit via railroads. The agreement would be the first in the framework of II International Business Forum "1520 Strategic Partnership: Baltic Region" to be held in Tallinn on February 9-10.
The forum will be attended by Kaido Simmermann, Chairman of the Board of Estonian Railways, Vladimir Yakunin, president of the Russian Railways, Juhan Parts, Minister of Economy and Communications of Estonia, Ugis Magonis, Chairman of the Latvian Railways, Mikhail Kostyuk, Director General of the State Administration of Railway Transport of Ukraine, Askar Mamin, president of Kazakhstan Railways, Mayor of Tallinn Edgar Savisaar, etc.

As a major transit point and a key element of the Eurasian Economic Cooperation, the Baltic region is of great interest to all partners in the so-called "broad" gauge.
