SAFINAT to build up its fleet, almost twofold by 2015

Safinat Logistics Investment Group plans to order 20-25 new ships to be built at the shipyards of China and Romania. The ships ranging from 7 dwt to 13 dwt are to be launched by 2015 to increase the company’s fleet, PortNews reports citing the SLIG press office. The logistics company is also considering the construction of its own shipyard in Astrakhan.

Safinat Logistics Investment Group is one of the Russian logistics operators providing services in the transportation market as well as implementing investment projects in Russia, Europe, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Iran and Turkmenistan. The Group’s fleet in the Caspian Sea comprises 22 ships of overall capacity of more than 100.000 tons, specialized and auxiliary vessels for different purposes. The company operates Maktren-Nafta LPG terminal in Temryuk.
