The first document deals with joint-service of trains, locomotives operations and locomotive crews and mutual settlement of accounts between Russian Railways and Estonian Railways. The second – a contract between the two state-run companies, was signed to make mutual freight traffics management more effective.
As Vladimir Yakunin, the RZD president said in his interview with journalists, the signed agreement might solve several issues since old contracts that had been in force since 1992 could not correspond with the modern legislation in the two countries.
