Vladivostok’s cargo turnover at 587.300 tons this January, a twofold growth

In January 2010 the port of Vladivostok handled 587.300 tons of commodities, or a twofold surge from 286.100 tons in the same period in 2009, the Vladivostok Commercial Sea Port production department said.

Of the total volumes, 406.900 tons were exported, 63.500 tons – of imports and of coastal shipments volume – 116.900 tons. This January containers volumes via the VCSP amounted to 21.820 TEUs, in cabotage – 700.798 TEUs, of inbound containers – 5.365 TEUs, of outbound – 7.919 TEUs.

According to the VCSP’s production manager Sergei Lopunov, the last January trend, has almost doubled the Q1 projected figures (45.5%).

Vladivostok Commercial Sea Port manages the facilities complex in of the largest seaports in the Far East of Russia. The company’s portfolio of assets comprises 17 loading berths, including specialized - container, passenger and automobile as well as developed warehousing facilities. The Port of Vladivostok is included in the FESCO transport group. Throughput of the port in 2009 totaled 6.205.100 tons, or 4.9% up over 2008.
