The investments figures include some 500 million rubles allocated for the final phase for ro-ro terminal facilities of capacity of 1 million tons of ro-ro cargoes a year. The First stevedoring company started operating the terminal in April 2009.
The SPSP spent over 16 million rubles for the design works of a universal warehouse complex intended for covered storage of cargoes (12.700-sq. m. area).
More than 1.5 billion rubles were spent for construction and equipment of the first container terminal in the territory of the Fourth stevedoring company. Its production capacity is about 350.000 TEUs. The container terminal is to be launched in Q2 2010.
About 10 million rubles allocated for refrigerator facilities project design and documentation, as well as sanitary and environmental survey of the area intended for the reefer terminal (the first and second districts of the port). The terminal production of capacity of 1.5 million tons a year would reduce the costs of major importers of food products in St. Petersburg and North-West Russia. The new facilities will ensure the preservation of food quality and their compliance with EU sanitary requirements.
About 60 million rubles were spent for the reconstruction of warehousing facilities and the open sites for storage of general cargoes in the first and second districts of the port. To reconstruct the port’s transport infrastructure and access driveways, the company spent 33 m rubles.
The Seaport of Saint Petersburg Group of the Universal Cargo Logistics Holding is implementing an ambitious program of development, including the modernization and technical upgrading of basic production assets. The volume of targeted investments is growing steadily, the company statement said.
