MSC to rise rates from Spanish ports to Middle East and the Far East

Mediterranean Shipping Company will apply a general rate increase on all eastbound cargo from Spanish ports to destinations in the Middle East and the Far East.
It is applying an increase of $100 per container as of Feb. 15 to cargo bound for any destination in the Far East from Valencia, Barcelona, Cadiz, Cartagena, Malaga, Tarragona and the Canary Islands. The increase applies to all cargos, including wastepaper, plastic and metal scrap.
It will apply an increase of $100 per container for any cargoes going to any destination in the Middle East as of March 1 from Valencia, Barcelona, Cadiz, Cartagena, Malaga, Tarragona and the Canary Islands
Separately, it will also apply a full-load terminal handling charge as of March 1 on top of the present rates for any cargoes going from Bilbao, Vigo and Gijon to any destination in the Far East, including waste paper, plastic, metal scrap, etc.
The carrier will apply an increase of $100 per container as of March 1 on any cargoes going from Bilbao, Vigo and Gijon to any destination in the Middle East.
