The company statement said it had had the largest loaded volumes jump in iron ore, at 1.670.900 tons or as much as 88 percent over January 2009, non-ferrous ore by 41.3% (223.000 tons), fertilizers - by 62.8% (1.110.000 tons), ferrous metals - by 69.1%, chemicals - by 19,9%, containerized cargoes by 36% (169.000 tones). The report also shows a 7.3 percent drop in loading of oil cargo (1.323.000 tons), building materials, by 6.8% (942.300 tons) and timber cargo - by 6.9% .
Oktyabrskaya Railroad’s length is 13.323.7 km. The rail line passes through 11 Russian regions - Leningrad, Pskov, Novgorod, Vologda, Murmansk, Tver, Moscow, Yaroslavl, Moscow, St. Petersburg and the Republic of Karelia. Rail traffic volumes via Oktyabrskaya Railroad (OZD) in 2009 fell 17.1% from the previous year’s numbers, to 88.6 million tons of commodities.
