Volumes of cargo shipments through the port of Kavkaz in January this year fell 12.1% from the same period of 2009, down to 491.180 tons, PortNews IAA reports citing RosMorPort’s Taman branch office.

The port’s loading berths facilities are intended for handling bulked cargoes (mineral fertilizers, concentrates of various ores, grain) as well as general, timber, and containerized commodities. In 2009 shipment volumes via the port of Kavkaz reached 8.1 million tons and 2.500 ships were handled at the port.
