Containers turnover at Vladivostok up 30.79%, to 19.304 TEUs this January

Commodities volumes through Vladivostok Container Terminal (VCT) in January 2010 amounted to 19.304 TEUs, a 30.79% rise over January 2009 and 5.72% from figures in December, last year, the VCT press-service said.

The port’s statistics data show the terminal handled this January 7.453 TEUs of outbound cargoes, 4.697 TEUs of inbound and 7.154 TEUs of cabotage cargo. Reefers containers totaled 2.643 TEUs.

This January 35 ships have been handled at the terminal, against 33 vessels in December. Average volume rate per vessel amounted to 552 TEUs.

Vladivostok Container Terminal (VCT Ltd.) is a Vladivostok port container operator equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and capable of processing all types of containers and commodities of any size and weight. Throughput of VCT in 2009 reached 205.518 TEUs, showing a 15 percent drop from 2008.
