PG Logistics to open in 15 cities in China

Guangzhou logistics company PG Logistics plans to invest CNY1 billion (US$127 million) to build 15 logistics centres in 15 Chinese cities, according Xinhua News Agency. Speaking at a recent supply chain management forum, PG Logistics president Liu Wu, said his company's aim was to establish an operations network based on modern logistics centres and hubs that would provide more integrated supply chain services.
Mr Liu said many foreign companies purchasing and distributing in China have complained about the country's supply chain management service, as very few companies offer integrated logistics services.
Going forward, Mr Liu said his company planned to establish an integrated logistics service platform to support a global supply chain operation and establish an integrated service platform to support regional economic development. PG Logistics is currently in the second phase of developing a base in Shunde, which Mr Liu expects will handle up to CNY50 billion worth of cargo per year upon completion.
