Astrakhan Shipbuilding Production Association Ltd (ASPA, of the Group Caspian Energy Group) has suspended its business activities in connection with legal procedure. Earlier, the Arbitration Court of Astrakhan region ruled to freeze all bank accounts and put a lien on assets of the Caspian Energy Group Ltd. at the suit of the "Red Barricades” Shipyard whose 25% shares are owned by the Caspian Energy".
The "Red Barricades" Shipyard had appealed to the Arbitration Court of Astrakhan region to claim the recovery from the Caspian Energy Group losses and damage to the plaintiff’s goodwill in the amount of 408.156.160 rubles, the press-service of Caspian Energy said, adding a preliminary hearing of the case scheduled to be held on February 26 at the Arbitration Court of Astrakhan region.
The Red Barricades Company’s claim for damage was triggered by the CNRG representatives who were acquiring the shares of the RBC JSC in a broad daylight in the village of Red Barricades.
Earlier, the Astrakhan Department of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) had found the "Group Caspian Energy" violated the laws, spreading false, inaccurate, misleading information, which might have caused damage to the reputation of Red Barricades Shipyard Company.
Shipyard Red Barricades JSC specializes in building hulls of tankers, installation and reconstruction of drilling rigs. In June 2009, Caspian Energy Group of companies consolidated 25.6% stake in Red Barricades Shipyard.
