The Company said the growth was possible thanks to volumes of Kazakh oil through Batumi from the Tengiz field, shipped by TengizShevrOil. The share of oil in overall volume was 91.6%. The Batumi Terminal transshipped 1 million 85.3 thousand tons of oil in the two months, up 72.8% from the same period a year earlier.
The company said that in January-February 2010, transportation of liquefied natural gas (LNG) via the terminal rose as much as 2.6 times, up to 32.000 tons.
At the same time shipment of gasoline through the BOT dropped more than 3 times, to 16.7 thousand tons, as well as jet fuel - to 7.000 tons. Diesel fuel volumes also shrank by 2.3 times - to 14.8 thousand tons.
In 2009, total oil&oil products deliveries via the BOT reached 6 million 414.1 thousand tons against 7 million 155 thousand tons in 2008.
