Vostochny posts a 3 percent growth, at 2 m tons in two months this year

In January-February, 2010 Vostochny (East) Port transshipped 2.097.200 tons of commodities, a 3 percent rise over the same period a year earlier. Just this February 1.066.600 tons of cargoes have been shipped via the Company’s terminal, adding 24 percent to the month output statistics, the Vostochny Port press release said.

In the reporting period the port’s Universal Handling Terminal handled 329.500 tons of commodities, 8% up from the same period in 2009. This February the terminal transshipped 212.500 tons of cargoes, showing a 63 percent surge over February, 2009.

In January-February, 2010 the Vostochny’s Specialized Coal Terminal has seen 1 million 767.7 thousand tons of coal, a 2% rise over the same period a year earlier, and 854.100 tons in February or 17% growth from Feb., 2009).
Vostochny Port OJSC is the largest stevedoring company in the Russian Far East specializing in coal transshipment.
The Company’s portfolio of assets includes Specialized Coal and Universal Handling Terminals (PPK-1), handling general and bulked cargoes, coal, clinker, coke, iron ore concentrate, timber, etc. The Terminal’s facilities allow handling metal, cellulose, argil, chemicals, oversized and heavy cargoes
In 2009 the Vostochny Port Authority reported 14.585.800 tons of shipped cargoes, a 3 percent drop year-over-year.
