In the first two months of 2010, dry cargo volumes passed through the port amounted to 468.100 tons, (249.100 tons in Jan.-Feb., 2009), including metal – 265.100 tons (233.1 tons) and grain – 113.000 tons (18.000 tons).
Port Aktau based on the east coast of the Caspian Sea is the only seaport of the Republic of Kazakhstan, designed for the international transit of various dry cargoes, crude oil and petroleum products. The port’s throughput in 2009 grew by 26.7%, up to 13.951.000 tons.
