Container turnover at FCT, St.Petersburg up 25.4%, 156.000 TEUs in January-February

In the first two months of this year the throughput of the First Container Terminal (FCT, St. Petersburg) amounted to 156.196 TEUs, 25.4% up from the same period a year earlier. Container turnover this February reached 79.793 TEUs, a 30.2 percent rise over the last year’s two months, the National Container Company reported (NCC, manages FCT).

In February 2010 the Terminal loaded 39.702 TEUs of outbound containers and off-loaded 40.910 TEUs of imports. Turnover of refrigerated containers was at 10.375 TEUs. The Terminal handled 61 container ships, the average turnover per vessel – 1.308 TEUs.

National Container Company (NCC) is a leading Russia container operator in the market of stevedoring services. The First Quantum and the Transport Group FESCO hold equal stakes in the NCC.
