Japan's MOL container shipping line has announced its participation in a new service revamp with "K" Line on the US west coast and Canadian trade lanes.
Starting April 7, the JAS Service will be a shuttle between Japan and Los Angeles and Oakland deploying five ships, providing faster transits from Los Angeles and Oakland to Japan, said the MOL statement.
This will be achieved by shifting calls at Tacoma and Vancouver to the PN1 service (Pacific Northwest 1), which will connect China, Taiwan and Japan to ports in the Pacific Northwest with six ships. This includes a new link between Xiamen, Nagoya and the Pacific Northwest for MOL.
The JAS service will start April 7 with the sailing on the Venice Bridge from Kobe with MOL operating three ships and "K" Line operating two on the following rotation: Kobe (Tue/Wed), Nagoya (Thu/Thu), Shimizu (Fri/Fri), Tokyo (Sat/Sat), Los Angeles (Tue/Sun), Oakland (Tue/Wed), Tokyo (Mon/Mon) and back to Kobe (Tue).
The PN1 Service will commence April 8 with the sailing of the Bremen Bridge from Xiamen with MOL operating one ship and "K" line operating five on the following rotation: Xiamen (Thu/Thu), Hong Kong (Fri/Fri), Shenzhen-Yantian (Sat/Sat), Shanghai (Mon/Tue), Nagoya (Thu/Thu), Tokyo (Fri/Fri), Tacoma (Sun/Wed), Vancouver (Wed/ Thu), Tokyo (Mon/Tue), Nagoya (Wed/Thu), Kobe (Fri/Fri), Kaohsiung (Mon/Mon) and back to Xiamen (Thu).
